The Combustion System, Explained

This stove uses a three-stage air system for clean, efficient combustion.

① Primary air regulator feeds the base of the fire for quick lighting — close it once the fire is established. ② Secondary air regulator enters above the fire, sustaining the flame and keeping the glass clear. ③ Tertiary air regulator controls the final stage of combustion, directing air to fully burn the remaining flue gases before they exit.

④ The flue damper controls chimney draught — open when lighting or reloading, partially closed to slow the burn. ⑤ The steel reflector and ⑥ vermiculite reflector work together to direct heat back across the firebox rather than letting it escape up the chimney, with the vermiculite layer also helping retain heat after the flames die down. ⑦ Tertiary air enters the firebox at this point, completing the mix that the regulator at ③ controls.

Air Controls: Primary, Secondary, Tertiary

This stove uses three separate controls to manage combustion at each stage.

(A) Primary air — a rotating regulator at the base of the firebox. Turn it clockwise (green) to open for lighting and reloading, or counter-clockwise (red) to close once the fire is established.

(B) Secondary air — a sliding lever above the door. Slide right (green) to open and sustain the flame, or left (red) to close it, reducing airflow and slowing the burn.

(C) Tertiary air — a lever beneath the firebox. Move it toward OPEN (green) to complete combustion by mixing the remaining flue gases, or toward CLOSED (red) to reduce it.

As a general rule: open all three fully when lighting or reloading, then gradually close primary and tertiary air once the fire is established, using secondary air to maintain a steady, visible flame.

Damper Control

The damper regulates draught in the fireplace chimney. When open, it sits parallel to the flue, letting smoke and hot gases draw freely — the correct position for lighting the fire and while it's actively burning. When closed, it rotates across the flue, restricting the opening and slowing the draught.

Partially closing the damper once the fire is established can extend burn time by slowing combustion, but never close it fully while the fireplace is in use, as this can cause smoke to back up into the room.

Prity MR D Wood Burning Stove – 11.6 kW

Classic Lines, Raised on Legs, Built for Real Heat

The Prity MR D pairs a flat, useful top plate with a wide window door and slender, angled legs — a straightforward, classic silhouette that suits both traditional and modern rooms. 11.6 kW of radiant heat and an A+ energy efficiency rating back up the look with real performance.

Made in Bulgaria. EU Ecodesign compliant.

How Much Area Can It Heat?

Prity doesn't publish an official heated-area figure for the MR D, so this is our own estimate, based on the heated-area-to-power ratio observed across comparable Prity models in our range (roughly 7.5 m² per kW). At 11.6 kW, that puts the MR D at approximately 85 m², depending on insulation, ceiling height, and room layout.

A Wide Window, a Practical Top Plate

The door's glass window spans most of its width, giving a broad view of the fire, with a rotary air control set into the door below it. The flat top plate runs the full width and depth of the stove body, with the flue collar and damper control positioned near the rear.

Clean Combustion, A+ Efficiency

The MR D achieves a combustion efficiency (η) of 81.9% and a seasonal space heating energy efficiency of 71.9%, with an energy efficiency index of 109 — placing it in energy class A+. Emissions at nominal output: CO at 875 mg/Nm³, particulate matter at 27.3 mg/Nm³, NOx at 99 mg/Nm³, and OGC at 81 mg/Nm³ — all within EU Ecodesign limits.

Fuel consumption at nominal output is 3.5 kg of dry wood per hour, with a flue gas temperature of 263°C and a mass flow rate of 9.4 g/s.

Firebox

The combustion chamber measures 600 mm wide, 338 mm deep, and 290 mm high. The ceramic glass door is kept clear by the secondary air wash system, which runs a continuous curtain of fresh air across the inner glass surface during burning.

Important Installation Note

The MR D uses a Ø150 mm flue outlet and requires a minimum chimney draught of 12 Pa. Please confirm your chimney connection is compatible with this diameter before ordering. At 97 kg, the unit needs a floor capable of supporting the weight. Body height is 813 mm, with the flue collar bringing total height to approximately 917 mm; overall footprint is 680 × 470 mm (W × D).

30 Years of European Engineering Behind Every Weld

Prity has manufactured solid fuel heating appliances in Gorna Oryahovitsa, Bulgaria, since 1995. With more than 250 production staff and a range refined across three decades, the company builds stoves that earn their place in a home for years. Every unit is manufactured to the relevant EN standards and independently verified.

Your MR D comes with a 24-month manufacturer's warranty.
