The Combustion System, Explained
This stove uses a three-stage air system for clean, efficient combustion.
① Primary air regulator feeds the base of the fire for quick lighting — close it once the fire is established. ② Secondary air regulator enters above the fire, sustaining the flame and keeping the glass clear. ③ Tertiary air regulator controls the final stage of combustion, directing air to fully burn the remaining flue gases before they exit.
④ The flue damper controls chimney draught — open when lighting or reloading, partially closed to slow the burn. ⑤ The steel reflector and ⑥ vermiculite reflector work together to direct heat back across the firebox rather than letting it escape up the chimney, with the vermiculite layer also helping retain heat after the flames die down. ⑦ Tertiary air enters the firebox at this point, completing the mix that the regulator at ③ controls.
Air Controls: Primary, Secondary, Tertiary
This stove uses three separate controls to manage combustion at each stage.
(A) Primary air — a rotating regulator at the base of the firebox. Turn it clockwise (green) to open for lighting and reloading, or counter-clockwise (red) to close once the fire is established.
(B) Secondary air — a sliding lever above the door. Slide right (green) to open and sustain the flame, or left (red) to close it, reducing airflow and slowing the burn.
(C) Tertiary air — a lever beneath the firebox. Move it toward OPEN (green) to complete combustion by mixing the remaining flue gases, or toward CLOSED (red) to reduce it.
As a general rule: open all three fully when lighting or reloading, then gradually close primary and tertiary air once the fire is established, using secondary air to maintain a steady, visible flame.
Damper Control
The damper regulates draught in the fireplace chimney. When open, it sits parallel to the flue, letting smoke and hot gases draw freely — the correct position for lighting the fire and while it's actively burning. When closed, it rotates across the flue, restricting the opening and slowing the draught.
Partially closing the damper once the fire is established can extend burn time by slowing combustion, but never close it fully while the fireplace is in use, as this can cause smoke to back up into the room.
Prity K13 D Wood Burning Stove – 11.6 kW
Built for Bigger Spaces. Engineered for Serious Winters.
Some homes need more than a compact stove can offer. A large open-plan living area, a high-ceilinged period property, a farmhouse kitchen that has to stay warm from early morning to late evening. For those spaces and those demands, the Prity K13 D was built.
With 11.6 kW of heat output, an exceptionally wide firebox, and Energy Efficiency Class A+, the K13 D is one of the most capable wood-burning stoves in the Prity range — a serious heating appliance for homeowners who take their winters seriously.
How Much Space Can It Heat?
The K13 D is suitable for heating spaces of up to 85 m², depending on insulation, ceiling height, and room layout. It is an excellent primary heat source for large living rooms, open-plan kitchen-dining-living spaces, and generously sized rooms in older properties — and a commanding supplementary heater for larger homes.
A Wider Firebox. Longer Logs. Fewer Interruptions.
The K13 D's combustion chamber measures 522 mm wide — significantly broader than most stoves in its class. In practical terms, this means you can load longer, chunkier logs without splitting them down to size, and load more wood per cycle. Fewer trips to the log pile. Longer burns. More time enjoying the warmth and less time managing the fire.
The firebox is lined with heat-retaining firebricks that absorb and store intense heat during combustion, releasing it steadily back into the room long after the flames have settled. Combined with the wide chamber, this makes the K13 D particularly effective at maintaining a consistent room temperature over extended periods.
Triple Combustion Technology: Precision Heat from Every Log
The K13 D runs on Prity's triple air combustion system, giving you precise control over the burn at every stage.
Primary air gets the fire lit quickly and draws the chimney to life — then you close it down once combustion is established. Secondary air takes over during the main burn, feeding the flame through the upper periphery of the combustion chamber door and continuously washing the heat-resistant ceramic glass to keep it clear. Tertiary air completes the cycle, fully mixing the combustion gases to extract maximum energy from your fuel.
The result is 81.9% efficiency — meaning the overwhelming majority of the energy stored in your firewood ends up as heat in your home.
A+ Rated. EU Certified. Clean Burning.
The K13 D carries an Energy Efficiency Class A+ rating and fully meets EU Ecodesign Regulation 2015/1185. Its dust particle emissions of just 27.3 mg/Nm³ are among the lowest in the Prity lineup — well below the EU limit of 40 mg/Nm³ — reflecting a combustion process that is as clean as it is efficient. Its 71.9% seasonal heating efficiency reflects consistent real-world performance across an entire heating season.
30 Years of European Engineering Behind Every Weld
Prity has been manufacturing solid fuel heating appliances in Gorna Oryahovitsa, Bulgaria since 1995. With over 250 production workers and a product range refined over three decades, they build stoves that earn their place in a home for years. Every unit is manufactured to BDS EN 13240 and independently verified by TÜV NORD — the K13 D's performance figures are tested and certified results, not marketing claims.
Your K13 D comes with a 24-month manufacturer's warranty.
