The Combustion System, Explained

This stove uses a three-stage air system for clean, efficient combustion.

① Primary air regulator feeds the base of the fire for quick lighting — close it once the fire is established. ② Secondary air regulator enters above the fire, sustaining the flame and keeping the glass clear. ③ Tertiary air regulator controls the final stage of combustion, directing air to fully burn the remaining flue gases before they exit.

④ The flue damper controls chimney draught — open when lighting or reloading, partially closed to slow the burn. ⑤ The steel reflector and ⑥ vermiculite reflector work together to direct heat back across the firebox rather than letting it escape up the chimney, with the vermiculite layer also helping retain heat after the flames die down. ⑦ Tertiary air enters the firebox at this point, completing the mix that the regulator at ③ controls.

Air Controls: Primary, Secondary, Tertiary

This stove uses three separate controls to manage combustion at each stage.

(A) Primary air — a rotating regulator at the base of the firebox. Turn it clockwise (green) to open for lighting and reloading, or counter-clockwise (red) to close once the fire is established.

(B) Secondary air — a sliding lever above the door. Slide right (green) to open and sustain the flame, or left (red) to close it, reducing airflow and slowing the burn.

(C) Tertiary air — a lever beneath the firebox. Move it toward OPEN (green) to complete combustion by mixing the remaining flue gases, or toward CLOSED (red) to reduce it.

As a general rule: open all three fully when lighting or reloading, then gradually close primary and tertiary air once the fire is established, using secondary air to maintain a steady, visible flame.

Damper Control

The damper regulates draught in the fireplace chimney. When open, it sits parallel to the flue, letting smoke and hot gases draw freely — the correct position for lighting the fire and while it's actively burning. When closed, it rotates across the flue, restricting the opening and slowing the draught.

Partially closing the damper once the fire is established can extend burn time by slowing combustion, but never close it fully while the fireplace is in use, as this can cause smoke to back up into the room.

Prity KD Wood Burning Stove – 9.3 kW

More Room. More Heat. The Same Reliability You Can Count On.

Some rooms just need more. A larger living space, an open-plan layout, a home where the heat has to travel a little further to reach every corner. The Prity KD is built for exactly those situations — delivering 9.3 kW of steady, radiant warmth from a stove that is still compact enough to fit naturally into a domestic interior.

Class A+ energy efficiency. Over three decades of Bulgarian engineering. Certified across Europe. This is a stove built to perform, season after season.

How Much Space Can It Heat?

The KD is suitable for heating spaces of up to 70 m², depending on insulation, ceiling height, and room layout. It works well as the primary heat source for larger living rooms, open-plan kitchen-dining-living areas, and converted spaces — and as a powerful supplementary heat source in bigger homes.

Triple Combustion Technology: More Heat from Every Log

The KD uses the same triple air combustion system found across Prity's professional range — a significant step up from the single-damper stoves common at this price point.

Primary air ignites the fire quickly and draws the chimney to life. Once combustion is stable, you close it down to prevent overheating and shift into efficient running mode. Secondary air then sustains the burn, feeding the flame through the upper edge of the combustion chamber door and simultaneously washing the heat-resistant ceramic glass — so the view stays clear hour after hour. Tertiary air completes the combustion cycle, fully mixing the fuel gases to ensure maximum energy extraction from every log.

Inside the firebox, heat-retaining firebricks line the combustion chamber walls. They absorb and store intense heat during the burn, then radiate it steadily back into your room long after the flames have subsided. A single well-loaded firebox can keep a space comfortably warm for several hours.

The outcome: 81.3% efficiency. The wood you buy does the job it is supposed to do — heating your home, not your chimney.

A+ Rated. EU Certified. Ready for European Winters.

The KD carries an Energy Efficiency Class A+ rating — the highest classification available for wood-burning stoves under EU standards. It meets the full requirements of EU Ecodesign Regulation 2015/1185, making it fully compliant for installation and use across all EU member states.

Its 71.3% seasonal heating efficiency reflects real-world performance across an entire heating season — not just peak laboratory conditions.

30 Years of European Engineering Behind Every Weld

Prity has been manufacturing solid fuel heating appliances in Gorna Oryahovitsa, Bulgaria since 1995. With over 250 production workers and a product range refined over three decades, they build stoves that last — not appliances that look good in a catalogue and underperform in a cold January.

Every Prity stove is manufactured to BDS EN 13240, the European standard for solid fuel room heaters, and independently verified by TÜV NORD — one of Europe's most respected technical certification authorities. The KD's 81.3% efficiency rating is not a marketing claim. It is a tested, certified result.

Your KD comes with a 24-month manufacturer's warranty.
